Homebred Racing Terms & Conditions

1. Homebred Racing enables members to share in the enjoyment of racehorse ownership for entertainment but is not an investment nor guarantees a financial return

2. Membership is subject to availability and is valid for 12 months commencing when the relevant horse is in training. Should your chosen horse be unable to race (eg. due to injury) you will be offered the option to transfer to another horse (subject to availability)

3. Homebred Racing is open to individuals aged 18 or over who have not had any disqualifications imposed upon them by any turf authority and will be subject to and regulated by certain provisions of The Rules of Racing for the duration of their membership with explicit reference to the following chapters (which may be subject to change from time to time) on notice by the BHA to Homebred Racing: Chapter (J ) Integrity and Chapter (L) BHA investigations and disciplinary action. Homebred Racing reserves the right to suspend any individual who will be required to surrender their membership

4. Homebred Racing provides and retains ownership in all the Homebred horse(s) to ensure their continued welfare after racing when they will return to a permanent home at the Homebred Stud. Subscribing to Homebred Racing does not provide any ownership in any of the horses and 100% of members’ subscriptions solely contribute to meeting training and associated racing costs. No remuneration is received by the principals of Homebred Racing nor by any other third parties.

5. Members wishing to relinquish their participation before the end of their 12 month membership must inform Homebred Racing in writing and their subscription will be refunded for the remaining full calendar months after the written request has been received less an administration fee of £50.00. Subscriptions becoming available will first be offered to existing members

6. Costs for the varying membership options are as set out on our website at www.homebredracing.co.uk together with details of each horse and their trainer(s). Subscription costs do not include insurance against injury or death of the horse(s)

7. Any prize and appearance monies won during the 12 month membership will be shared proportionally by members with 10% holding (or more) and will be distributed exclusive of VAT at the end of their membership as per the full financial statement provided and in accordance with Weatherbys records from Homebred Racing’s Barclays account (whose signatories are CM and SR Wall)

8. Homebred Racing cannot be held liable for any injury or loss to any individual sustained as a result of attending breeding or training premises or racecourses

9. Homebred Racing will make every effort to arrange free or concessionary racecourse admission where the relevant horse is entered to run but cannot guarantee this as entry arrangement are entirely at the discretion of individual racecourses. Homebred Racing cannot accept liability for any loss incurred as a result of cancellation or abandonment of racing, late withdrawal of a horse or a horse being a non-runner

10. All decisions on the training, racing and riding of Homebred Racing’s horses will be made by the relevant trainers and the principals of Homebred Racing.

11. All Homebred Racing’s horses will run in the name of Homebred Racing which will be used in racecards and in the media

12. Voting rights, where relevant, will be pro rata to the percentage subscription

13. Any correspondence should be directed to The Principals at Homebred Racing, Coedfoel Uchaf, Prengwyn, Llandysul, Ceredigion SA44 4LS including any complaint or dispute which will be shared with the other members. Resolution of any dispute will be determined with the agreement of the other members whose decision will be final and binding upon the complainant and the principals of Homebred Racing and will be advised in writing.
